Current Research Focus:

The field of mitochondrial disease research has expanded dramatically over the past three decades. Current investigations include genetic therapies targeting specific mutations, pharmaceutical interventions improving mitochondrial function, regenerative medicine approaches, improved diagnostic tools, and clinical trials testing emerging treatments.

UMDF Research Funding:

Since our founding, UMDF has funded research grants supporting basic science investigating mitochondrial function, translational research moving discoveries toward clinical application, clinical trials testing new treatments, diagnostic tool development, and quality of life studies.
